Service Description: Operates a community centre for older adults that offers various recreational, educational and support programs and services.

Connects eligible, registered seniors with volunteers who will provide snow removal services at no cost
  • Registered seniors will be matched with a volunteer who will provide snow removal services for the duration of the winter season (up to the last snowfall of winter 2025/2026)
  • Volunteers will shovel a walkway (pathway) from the senior's door to the road within 48 hours of a snowfall of 3cm or more
There is no guarantee of services and driveway shovelling and/or windrow removal are not provided and cannot be requested under ANY circumstances.

  • Volunteers will be matched with a senior in their area, a shovel, tuque and mitts are provided

Eligibility / Target Population: Seniors who are:

  • 60 years of age and older, AND

  • have no other capable members residing in their home to help shovel


Volunteers:

  • over 16 years of age, or 14/15 with parental consent,

  • in good physical health, and

  • reliable
