Service Description: A rural health care organization that includes the Atikokan General Hospital, Atikokan Family Health Team and Atikokan Community Counselling to provide a range of health care and community services to residents in the Town of Atikokan and surrounding areas in the Rainy River District
NOTE: Do not call the Atikokan General Hospital Emergency Department seeking medical advice. Due to legal reasons the emergency department staff are unable to provide advice or information over the telephone

Education, Self-Management and Exercise Program for adults with history of cardiac disease
  • Offers a 3-month program
  • Healthy Lifestyles in Thunder Bay provides assessment, stress test, and prescription prior to local participation
  • Program offered through Telemedicine connection to Thunder Bay for education sessions, exercises locally
  • Allows 4 people per class (limited to exercise equipment in physio department)

Application: Cardiologist or Primary Care Practitioner referrals to Physiotherapy Department who will coordinate with Healthy Lifestyles Thunder Bay
