Service Description: A rural health care organization that includes the Atikokan General Hospital, Atikokan Family Health Team and Atikokan Community Counselling to provide a range of health care and community services to residents in the Town of Atikokan and surrounding areas in the Rainy River District
NOTE: Do not call the Atikokan General Hospital Emergency Department seeking medical advice. Due to legal reasons the emergency department staff are unable to provide advice or information over the telephone

  • Provides individual counselling for adults struggling with physical, medical and emotional health issues
  • Offers support worker assistance in life skills including housing, self care, nutrition, shopping, money management, social and recreational living
  • Provides family support and education

    Application: Walk-ins accepted pending on the availability of a counsellor
    Eligibility / Target Population: Individuals 18 years of age and older living with chronic and severe mental illness
